New Delhi, June 15 (APAC Media): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday announced that India and Slovakia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on labour migration and digital technology, while discussions are also progressing on a separate social security agreement.
Addressing a joint press statement with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico in Bratislava, PM Modi said the labour mobility agreement would facilitate the movement of professionals and skilled workers between the two countries and further strengthen bilateral cooperation.

Labour Mobility Agreement to Benefit Skilled Professionals
The newly announced MoU on labour migration is expected to enhance opportunities for professionals and skilled workers from both countries by creating a structured framework for mobility and employment.
Prime Minister Modi also said that negotiations on a social security agreement are at an advanced stage and the two sides are expected to finalise it soon.
The Prime Minister extended an invitation to the people of Slovakia to visit India and welcomed Prime Minister Fico’s positive response to the invitation.
India-Slovakia Digital Technology Cooperation
Highlighting technology as a key pillar of future cooperation, PM Modi said the MoU on digital technology would create new opportunities for collaboration in digital public infrastructure and innovation.
He also welcomed the establishment of an India Chair on Artificial Intelligence at a Slovak university, describing it as an important step towards expanding academic and technological partnerships.
Slovak PM Praises India’s Growth
Speaking alongside PM Modi, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico commended India’s rapid economic growth, technological advancements, and achievements in digitalisation and artificial intelligence.
Describing India as one of the world’s most influential economies, Fico noted that the country has emerged as a global leader in several sectors and is on track to become the world’s third-largest economy.
The agreements announced during PM Modi’s visit are expected to deepen India-Slovakia relations, particularly in areas such as labour mobility, digital technology, artificial intelligence and people-to-people exchanges.
