Vijayawada, June 2 (APAC Media): To strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s innovation and advanced manufacturing ecosystem, the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub (RTIH) and Kia India Pvt. Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the Advanced Prototyping and Innovation Center (APIC Labs) at the RTIH Amaravati Hub.
The agreement was signed by RTIH Group CEO Dhatri Reddy and senior Kia India officials, including Chief Administrative Officer Tae Hyun Kim, Senior Advisor for Legal, Compliance, Corporate Affairs, CSR and PR Jungho An, and Principal Advisor Dr T. Somasekhara Reddy.
APIC Labs to Support Product Development
APIC Labs will be conceived to address the gap between concept development and commercialisation, a challenge often faced by hardware start-ups.
The facility will provide innovators and emerging companies with access to industry-grade prototyping tools, product validation services, and advanced manufacturing infrastructure.
The objective is to support faster product development cycles and reduce the time required to bring new products to market.
Focus on Deep-Tech Sectors
The centre will focus on promoting innovation across several high-growth sectors, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, electronics, embedded systems, smart manufacturing, mobility technologies, and industrial automation.
With the right infrastructure and support, APIC Labs will be set up to assist start-ups and businesses in developing and building products from Andhra Pradesh.
The initiative is designed to help innovators transform ideas into market-ready products while strengthening capabilities in advanced manufacturing and product development.
