Bengaluru, June 18(CXO media): Wipro has opened a new Applied AI Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru focused on Anthropic’s Claude models, as the IT services company expands its enterprise AI capabilities and workforce training efforts.
The centre, launched at Wipro’s innovation hub, will support the development and deployment of AI-powered solutions across industries including healthcare, manufacturing, consumer goods, airlines and mortgage services. The initiative is part of the company’s AI-Native Business & Platforms Unit, which was set up to drive AI adoption across client engagements and internal operations.
Wipro said the CoE will integrate Claude models into its existing technology platforms and business workflows. The company is also using the models across functions such as finance, human resources and sales as part of its internal AI transformation efforts.
A key part of the programme is workforce development. Wipro plans to certify 10,000 front-line delivery professionals on Claude models over the next 18 months. The training is aimed at building expertise in designing, deploying and managing AI-enabled systems for enterprise customers.
The company has also expanded its network of Forward Deployed Engineers, who work directly within client environments to support AI implementation. The Bengaluru hub is expected to serve as a development centre for industry-specific AI applications and enterprise automation projects.
