Jharkhand Launches ₹14 Crore Digital Education Initiative

Ranchi, July 6 (APAC Media): In a major boost to digital education, the Jharkhand government is preparing to set up seven dedicated studios under the proposed E-Shiksha Connect Scheme.

The studios will be used to create high-quality educational content for students and support online training programmes for teachers across the state.

The proposal has been prepared by the Jharkhand Council of Educational Research and Training (JCERT).

It is currently under consideration by the School Education and Literacy Department and the project is estimated to cost around ₹14 crore.

According to the proposal, two studios will be established at the JCERT campus in Ratu, Ranchi.

The remaining five studios will be set up at the state’s divisional headquarters, taking the total number of studios to seven.

Earlier, JCERT had sought ₹4 crore from the Secondary Education Directorate to establish two studios at its Ranchi campus.

The revised proposal expands the project to all divisions. It is aimed at enabling the production of region-specific digital educational content across the state.

The Jharkhand government already provides a range of digital learning resources through the E-Vidyavahini portal and the Guruji App.

These include monthly test papers, question banks, periodic and term-end examination papers, and syllabus-based study material for teachers.

The proposed studios are expected to significantly enhance the production of digital educational content, including video-based lessons and other multimedia learning resources.

It will also strengthen teacher training programmes across the state and are expected to improve the quality and reach of these digital training sessions.

Jharkhand has made 50 hours of professional training mandatory for teachers. To meet this requirement, the government has increasingly shifted to online training platforms.

Once operational, the new studios will be used to develop structured training modules and other instructional content for teachers.

The initiative aims to make professional development programmes more accessible across Jharkhand.

According to the proposal, producing educational resources at the divisional level will also help address local learning requirements more effectively and strengthen the state’s digital education ecosystem.
