The approvals, aimed at accelerating manufacturing and creating employment opportunities, mark one of the state’s largest industrial land allocation initiatives in recent years.
The approvals were granted by the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) through its Project Clearance Committee.
The move is expected to pave the way for large-scale industrial expansion across multiple districts of the state.
It will also boost manufacturing capacity and generate employment opportunities.
Industrial Land Allotted Across Key Zones in Bihar
Under the approved plan, 37.95 acres of industrial land has been allotted for setting up new manufacturing and production units across the state.
The projects will come up in key industrial areas, including Sikanderpur Industrial Area (Bihta, Patna), Hathua Phase-3, Forbesganj, Lohat Phase-1, Bariarpur, and Fatwah Industrial Area.
Plug-and-Play Sheds Approved
The state government has also approved plug-and-play industrial sheds to facilitate quicker establishment of industries.
The initiative is expected to reduce project implementation time and enable faster commencement of manufacturing operations.
Empra Life India Leads with ₹5,600 Crore Investment
Among the approved proposals, Empra Life India Private Limited has emerged as the largest investor.
It has committed nearly ₹5,600 crore, one of the biggest single-company investment proposals in Bihar’s history.
The company has been allotted 9.64 acres of land in the Sikanderpur Industrial Area, Bihta (Patna) for setting up its manufacturing facility.
According to officials, it is the largest investment proposal by a single private company in Bihar so far, reflecting growing investor confidence in the state’s industrial ecosystem.
Around 3,000 Jobs to Be Created in Bihar
The approved projects are expected to generate around 3,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities across the state.
The investments cover a diverse range of sectors, including advanced medical technology, food processing, textiles, chemicals, plastic products, electric vehicles (EVs), lithium-ion batteries, compressed biogas (CBG), furniture and fixtures, general manufacturing, and optical emission spectrometer production.
Officials said the diversified project portfolio will help strengthen Bihar’s industrial base and expand its manufacturing ecosystem.
The investments are also expected to promote value-added production, attract more private investment, and support the state’s long-term economic growth.
Infrastructure Push to Support Industrial Growth
The industrial expansion is expected to be complemented by the state’s ongoing infrastructure development initiatives.
Recently, HUDCO extended financial assistance of up to ₹10,500 crore for infrastructure projects in Bihar.
In addition, the expansion of the Patna Metro, including the upcoming operational stretches between New ISBT–Malahi Pakri and Malahi Pakri–Khemnichak, is expected to improve urban connectivity and support commercial and industrial activity across the region.
