Hyderabad, July 11 (APAC Media): Around 80,000 students enrolled in 205 schools managed by the Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS) will receive structured training in artificial intelligence (AI), digital safety and cyber awareness from August 15.
The initiative is being implemented by the Telangana government in partnership with MASK NextGen Inc. and Doxa Consulting Private Limited (DCPL). A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on Friday to roll out the programme.
The three-year initiative, offered free of cost to the government under a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, aims to equip students with AI literacy, digital citizenship and responsible technology usage through a gamified learning platform.
Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin said AI has become an essential skill in today’s world and that the initiative would ensure students from economically disadvantaged minority communities are equipped for future opportunities.
MASK NextGen CEO Avni Trivedi said the programme would go beyond AI literacy by also focusing on digital resilience, online safety and responsible use of technology. She stressed the importance of teaching children how to navigate digital risks safely.
The curriculum includes 24 interactive learning modules and three assessments, covering AI fundamentals, cybersecurity, digital citizenship, English communication, leadership, gender sensitivity and inclusion. Students will attend one session every week throughout the academic year.
Trivedi added that the curriculum would be updated regularly to keep pace with advancements in AI and emerging technologies.
Joseph Christopher, Founder and CEO of Doxa Consulting Pvt Ltd, said the programme would help prepare students with future-ready skills while supporting Telangana’s vision of building a skilled, inclusive and globally competitive workforce.
