Hyderabad, August 4 (APAC Media): The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad), in collaboration with Crimson Energy Experts Private Limited (CEEPL), has launched ANUGYAN – Nuclear Technology Orientation Programme (NTOP).
This will be India’s first industry-academia program on nuclear technology, which has been designed to develop skilled professionals for the country’s rapidly growing civil nuclear energy sector.
The programme was officially inaugurated at the IIT Hyderabad campus. Conceived as a three-month fully residential course, Anugyan combines IIT Hyderabad’s academic expertise with the practical knowledge of senior nuclear industry professionals from Crimson Energy Experts. The initiative is designed to equip participants with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on industrial exposure.
Supporting India’s Nuclear Growth Vision
The launch of Anugyan marks a significant step towards strengthening India’s self-reliance in nuclear engineering education, workforce development, and clean energy technologies. The programme comes at a time when India has set an ambitious target of expanding its nuclear power generation capacity from approximately 8.8 GWe to 100 GWe by 2047.
The curriculum covers critical areas such as reactor physics, thermal hydraulics, radiation safety, Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), engineering design, quality assurance, AERB regulatory compliance, and simulator-based training, ensuring participants gain comprehensive exposure to modern nuclear engineering practices.
Industry-Ready Training and Certification
The programme is open to engineering graduates, working professionals, PSU executives, EPC contractors, and industrial equipment manufacturers. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a joint certification from IIT Hyderabad and Crimson Energy Experts Pvt. Ltd.
The launch also builds on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between IIT Hyderabad, Dassault Systèmes, and Crimson Energy Experts during Bharat Innovate 2026 in Nice, France. The partnership aims to establish the Centre of Design Excellence in Nuclear Engineering (CODENE), which will focus on advanced nuclear engineering design, digital simulation, and collaborative research to support India’s future nuclear ecosystem.
