New Delhi, August 3(APAC Media): Pegasystems has expanded its university partnership program in India to train engineering students in AI, automation, and low-code technologies. The company announced that VEMU Technical University has joined its University Academic Program as a new partner, while UEM Kolkata and Woxsen University have expanded their existing collaborations. The announcement was made at the company’s PEGAInnovate event.
Pega said it currently works with 23 universities in India and plans to add 30 to 40 more institutions during the year. The partnerships are aimed at integrating agentic AI, generative AI, and enterprise automation skills into engineering curricula.
Under the program, university faculty members will receive training and certification on Pega technologies before teaching students independently. Pega will also work with its implementation partners to provide students with exposure to professional and consulting skills relevant to enterprise technology projects.
Each cohort runs for about 1.5 years and typically includes 40–50 students. Several participating universities have already approved the program as a credit-bearing course, allowing students to earn academic credits alongside industry certifications. The expansion comes as Indian universities increase efforts to align engineering education with demand for AI and automation talent in sectors such as software services, banking, healthcare, and manufacturing.
