New Delhi, Sep 23(APAC Media): Mahindra has launched the Thar OG in India, with prices starting at Rs 10.32 lakh (ex-showroom).
The updated three-door SUV gets changes to its design, engines, suspension, steering and safety features. Mahindra has also added the 2.2-litre diesel engine with a rear-wheel-drive option for the first time.
Mahindra Thar OG Price
The Mahindra Thar OG is available in AXT, LXT and ZXT variants. Prices range from Rs 10.32 lakh to Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The entry-level AXT is available with the 1.5-litre diesel engine and manual gearbox.
The LXT and ZXT variants get more powertrain options, including the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines. Depending on the variant, buyers can choose between manual and automatic gearboxes, with 4×4 available on the larger engines.
Thar OG Design And Features
The new Thar gets LED projector headlamps, a redesigned grille and updated bumpers. The fog lamps have also moved to the fenders and now use LED units. New 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels are available on the SUV.
Inside, the Thar OG gets brown leatherette seats and rear armrests with cupholders. Other features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, push-button start and wireless charging.
Mahindra Thar OG Safety And Engine
Safety equipment includes six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability program, hill-hold assist, hill-descent control, TPMS, ISOFIX mounts and a rear-view camera. The SUV also gets all-wheel disc brakes.
Mahindra has revised the suspension and replaced the earlier hydraulic power steering with electric power steering. The 4×4 versions continue to offer off-road features such as terrain modes, brake-locking differential and electronic locking differential.
The Mahindra Thar OG retains the three-door layout while receiving mechanical and equipment updates aimed at improving its everyday usability and off-road capability.
