Gandhinagar, September 23 (APAC Media): The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited (SSNNL) have signed an MoU to streamline approvals for National Highway, canal and pipeline crossings in Gujarat.
The agreement sets a time-bound coordination framework aimed at reducing procedural delays and speeding up the execution of road and irrigation infrastructure projects.
Key Changes Under MoU
The agreement provides for:
- Waiver of various fees and charges for covered crossings
- Faster sharing of project information
- Reduced procedural delays
- Standardised engineering practices
- Clear responsibilities for construction and maintenance
The MoU was signed in Gandhinagar by representatives of NHAI and SSNNL in the presence of senior officials from both agencies.
Faster Infrastructure Coordination
The framework is expected to reduce project costs and improve coordination during the planning and execution of highway, canal and pipeline crossings.
It will also support smoother implementation of road and irrigation projects by establishing common procedures for engineering, construction, maintenance and information sharing.
The partnership is aimed at supporting more integrated infrastructure development in Gujarat while improving project execution timelines.
