New Delhi: India is all set to arrive in the global healthcare stage with its strategic policies, science & innovation and futuristic planning. This has been the crux of discussion among healthcare leaders of the country from various departments and organisations on the first day of ‘Glocal India Healthcare Conclave’ organised by APAC Digital News Network on Thursday.
The virtual event was inaugurated by Professor Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary, DST, Government of India. India can be the next big healthcare solution provider for the world,’ he said. Delivering the Keynote Address, Prof Sharma highlighted various initiatives taken by DST to promote science & innovation in the healthcare spectrum. Speaking in the inaugural, Dr Neeta Verma, Director General, NIC highlighted various features related to ‘Arogya Setu App.’ Dr Nitin Kulkari, Principal Secretary, Health, Government of Jharkhand stressed on changing people’s behaviour and tackling mental stress issues to tackle corona crisis. Dr Vipul Agarwal, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, National Health Authority, Government of India highlighted Ayushman Bharat and National Digital Health Mission programs as the game changer for India’s healthcare sector. Speaking on hospital infrastructure, Gyanesh Pandey, Managing Director, HSCC India Ltd focused on PSU’s endeavour in various asian countries building world class hospital infrastructure with technology & innovation.
In her special address, Jayati Singh, CEO of Gwalior Smart City Ltd informed how they have leveraged technology and innovation to tackle corona with special focus on smart city infrastructure such as Integrated Command Control Center.
‘APAC Glocal India Healthcare Conclave’ also created a platform to showcase innovations done by healthcare startup. Mirvij Healthcare Solutions, MedML, Prewento Health, AiRTH gave special presentations in the presence of angel investors like Vishal Gandhi, Archana Panchal, Rajiv Suri.
In medical device manufacturing sector session, AiMeD Forum Coordinator Rajiv Nath puth forth the pain points of the sector. Ganesh P Sabat of Sahajanand Medical Technologies said government has to create an ecosystem in which a larger market needs to open in India. Gaurav Agarwal, director, Innvolution Healthcare Pvt Ltd said aatmanirbhar bharat has to succeed with sarvottam bharat.
Talking about the challenges of hospitals during & post covid era for patient engagement, healthcare marketing experts highlighted on the importance of evolving digital media. Mehul Ashar, Omni Hospitals moderated the session along with eminent panelists such as Jasrita Dhir of Fortis Healthcare, Divijnath Pandya- Narayana Health and Abhishek Dasgupta of CK Birla Hospital.
