Hyderabad: Excelsior Model United Nation 2020, the 5th edition of the annual conference aimed at the simulation of international relations and working dynamics of United Nations made a global mark underlining the importance of international diplomacy and peace.
Hosted by Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology in Hyderabad, the 5th edition was hosted from December 18-20, 2020 on a virtual platform.
Three committees were simulated at the conference this year- United Nations General Assembly: Disarmament and International Security (UNGA:DISEC), United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), and the Lok Sabha.
Mr. Adnan Altay Altınörs, Turkey Consul General in Hyderabad in his Keynote address during the opening ceremony interacted with the participants and shared his experience on the importance of diplomacy and international peace, especially in these trying times, motivating them to make the most of the conference.
The Organising Committee helped the delegates find their respective committees on the virtual platform for an introductory session about each committee’s Rules of Procedure, which allowed the delegates to comfortably transition to conferences on a digital platform, ensuring that the rest of the conference would be free from technical hiccups and as academically enriching as possible.
The Secretariat, Organising Committee of Excelsior MUN 2020, and the immensely supportive teacher coordinators managed the entire conference seamlessly with impressive response from the delegates.
