LUCKNOW: Passengers can book the bus tickets online as UPSRTC has restarted the online ticket booking system. The new online ticket booking system has been functional since May 8.
Minister of state for transport (independent charge) Dayashanker Singh said that the new server has been launched by the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) to extend the facility of online ticket booking to passengers as was available to them in the past, before the-ticketing system of the corporation hit a snag after it was hacked on April 25.
The Corporation had switched over to manual ticketing after that. The tickets booked online for a month in advance were all refunded by the Corporation. The new server has been tested extensively for all its ticketing applications, said the minister. “The best of the industry norms have been followed in designing the new server,” he said.
With the new e-ticketing system in place, passengers can book online tickets and pay the fare through UPI both onboard and at ticket counters.
