New Delhi: In a progressive move towards enhancing the nation’s highway infrastructure, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Tuesday unveiled a pioneering ‘Knowledge Sharing’ platform, said the Ministry in a statement. This novel initiative, hosted on the NHAI website, aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and innovative best practices among experts and citizens involved in road design, construction, road safety, environmental sustainability, and related fields, the statement added.
As per the statement, to foster knowledge sharing, the NHAI has provided a user-friendly interface on its web portal, accessible at https://ksp.nhai.org/kb/. Here, individuals can upload their contributions in the form of video clips, PowerPoint presentations, and PDF files, showcasing exemplary practices in various areas. The uploaded information will undergo a meticulous review process conducted by NHAI officials, ensuring the evaluation and potential implementation of valuable recommendations.
The NHAI, leveraging innovation and modern technology, has been rapidly advancing the development of the national highway infrastructure. Notably, the authority has been championing the use of recycled materials such as fly ash and plastic waste, in addition to promoting sustainable practices through the incorporation of Recycled Asphalt (RAP) and Recycled Aggregates (RA) in highway construction, the statement noted.
With the construction of state-of-the-art tunnels, modern bridges, wildlife corridors, and expressways, the NHAI recognises the significance of wider participation in the nation’s highway infrastructure development. The introduction of the knowledge-sharing platform is poised to facilitate meaningful contributions from experts and citizens alike, as they share best practices and actively contribute to the nation-building process.
