New Delhi, September 15(APAC Media): Hyundai is bringing the Bayon to India.
The company has confirmed the name of its upcoming midsize SUV, which is expected to launch during the 2026 festive season. The Bayon will sit between the Venue and Creta in Hyundai’s India SUV line-up and is likely to target buyers looking for a more affordable alternative to the Creta.
The India-spec model will not be the same as the Bayon sold overseas. Internationally, the Bayon is based on the i20 and is positioned as a crossover. Hyundai is developing a different version for the Indian market.
Hyundai Bayon Design And Interior
Spy images indicate an upright SUV design with flared wheel arches, roof rails, dual-tone alloy wheels and a sloping rear windscreen. The front could get split LED lighting, while the rear is expected to feature slim tail-lamps and a connected light-bar design.
Inside, the Bayon has been spotted with a curved dual-screen setup. The dashboard appears to follow a black-and-white theme, while the steering wheel features Hyundai’s four-dot design.
Hyundai Bayon Engine And CNG
The SUV is expected to use Hyundai’s 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing around 115hp. A six-speed manual and CVT automatic are likely to be offered.
A factory-fitted CNG version is also expected. If launched, the Bayon would become Hyundai’s first model above four metres to offer a CNG powertrain.
Hyundai has not yet confirmed pricing, specifications or the complete feature list. More details are expected closer to the launch.
