Jaipur: The Jaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTSL) has implemented an Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Policy for the corporation on Friday. This is the first time in the Rajasthan Government that an ESG policy has been implemented by any undertaking or department.
IAS officer Ajitabh Sharma, who is also the chairman and managing director of Jaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTSL), said, “The objective of this Policy is to integrate the ESCG considerations into JCTSL’s operations and business, mitigate material impacts and risks, and serve as a guiding document for its ESG initiatives and activities. We are the first department or the first corporation of the Rajasthan state government to appoint a Chief Sustainability Officer.”

Based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Jaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTSL) is a state-owned public transport company. It was formed into a legal corporation in the year 2008 under the Companies Act, 1956 and commenced commercial operations in the year 2010.

The policy accommodates numerous aspects about the management of the company, including safeguarding the interests of its stakeholders’, code of conduct for the employees and JCTSL’s undertaking to provide safe, secured, reliable and environment-friendly amenities to its commuters.
The company secretary of Jaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTSL), Bhavyata Soni, had been appointed as the first Chief Sustainability Officer.
