New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal recently revealed the ‘Winter Action Plan’ that will help reduce the adverse effects of air pollution that affect the people living in Delhi, and its neighbouring areas, every year during the winter season.
According to a statement, CM Kejriwal said, “Inventorisation of major air pollution sources from hotspots have been completed for focused preventive actions,” adding that 13 pollution hotspots have been identified across Delhi.
Water sprinklers will be used to settle dust and an estimated 90 routes with heavy traffic around the day will have alternative roads for use. As many as 385 teams have been created to keep overage cars out of the road, and vehicle pollution certificates in check.
611 teams have been assigned the duty of monitoring the incineration of garbage in public, banning it altogether. As an initiative to involve all citizens, Kejriwal has urged people to download the Green Delhi mobile app to report pollution-causing activities.
The ‘Winter Action Plan’ is the action plan of this year, which the Delhi government formulates and adopts each year according to the requirements.
