Guwahati: Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEVCSL), a Tata Power Group Company and a leading provider of EV charging solutions, has announced a forthcoming collaboration with the Assam Government.
The aim of this partnership is to bring the convenience of EV charging infrastructure to the city of Guwahati. Tata Power is set to establish a network of 10 advanced EV chargers strategically placed across 10 key locations in the city as a pilot project, with a particular focus on high-traffic areas like Dispur.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of Parimal Suklabaidya, Assam’s Transport Minister, Excise & Fisheries, and other dignitaries, including Adil Khan (IAS), Secretary Transport to the Govt. of Assam, Rabin Kumar (IPS), Commissioner of Transport-Assam, representing the state’s top officials, as well as Virendra Goyal, Head of Business Development (EV Charging) at Tata Power, and other officials from the Transport Ministry.
According to the company, this initiative highlights Tata Power’s commitment to promoting sustainable and eco-friendly mobility, aligning perfectly with the Assam Government’s vision to encourage environmentally-conscious transportation solutions and increase the adoption of electric vehicles in the region.
Suklabaidya stated, “In our collaboration with Tata Power, a prominent leader in the electric charging sector, we exemplify our shared vision of advancing sustainability and improving the quality of life for the people of Assam. This initiative not only guarantees cleaner and more sustainable transportation but also a notable enhancement in the lives of our citizens. Goyal, Head of Business Development (EV Charging) at Tata Power, outlined the company’s strategic approach to its expansion and charger deployment in specific areas within Assam. He stated, “With each passing day, we are steadfastly progressing towards solidifying Tata Power’s position as a prominent player in this transformative sector. We are thrilled to partner with the Assam Government and reinforce our commitment to actively support their e-mobility initiatives, thereby contributing to the realisation of cleaner and more sustainable urban environments.”
