New Delhi: Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), a PSU functioning under the Ministry of Coal, has appointed Nilendu Kumar Singh as its new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He is currently serving as the Director (Technical) of Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL). Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) recommended Singh for the post recently.
Singh’s recommendation for the post comes from a list of 10 candidates, all interviewed by the PESB panel during a recent selection meeting. Three out of the 10 candidates were from ECL, three from CMPDIL, two from CCL and one candidate each from NCL and MCL.
A graduate in Mining Engineering (B. Tech) from IIT-ISM, Dhanbad, Singh has been serving in his current position as Director (Technical) of ECL since December 9, 2022. He has also previously served as the Mines Manager at Gevra, Sub Area Manager (Agent) at Dipka & Chhal project and Area General Manager at Dipka Area, Korba Area & Raigarh Area of SECL.
