Deogarh: The Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan, inaugurated the Skill India centre in Deogarh, Odisha. The centre, part of the NSDC Academy, aims to harness the potential of young talent by providing them with practical skills necessary for real-world applications and job placements.
The Skill India Centre in Deogarh focuses on offering specialised courses in sectors such as Media, Leather, Tourism & Hospitality, and IT-ITeS. Spanning over 3237 square feet, the centre boasts state-of-the-art infrastructure consisting of classrooms, laboratories, and specialised spaces to cater to diverse educational needs.
The curriculum comprises ten courses including Graphic Designer, StoryBoard Artist, Stitchers – Goods and Garments, Helper, Barista Executive, F&B Service Associate, Cutter – Goods and Garments and IT Helpdesk Assistant.
The centre intends to integrate academic knowledge with hands-on experience to ensure comprehensive skill development. Moreover, it prioritises industry-specific training, networking opportunities, and emerging technologies to bridge the gap between education and workforce demands.
During the inauguration, Minister Pradhan reiterated the government’s commitment to skilling, re-skilling, and up-skilling the youth to enhance their competency and self-reliance.
