Jammu: Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated a series of developmental projects worth over Rs 32,000 crore in Jammu on Tuesday. These projects encompass sectors such as education, railway, aviation, and road infrastructure.
A permanent campus for IIT Jammu, among others, were inaugurated by Modi. He also inaugurated IIM Jammu and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Vijaypur, Jammu. This healthcare institution will span over 227 acres and provide 720 beds, along with other essential facilities.
Moreover, Modi laid the foundation stone for road infrastructure projects, including stretches of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra expressway and the Srinagar Ring road. Additionally, he initiated the development of the CUF petroleum depot in Jammu.
Modi handed out appointment letters to approximately 1,500 newly recruited government employees in Jammu and Kashmir, engaging with beneficiaries of various schemes under the ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Jammu’ program.
Several railway projects were also inaugurated, like the Banihal-Khari-Sumber-Sangaldan railway line spanning 48 km and the electrified Baramulla-Srinagar-Banihal-
