New Delhi: With an aim of making India’s energy sector self-reliant, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a new scheme on Monday, through which Rooftop solar will be installed in 1 crore houses.
The scheme, titled ‘Pradhanmantri Suryodaya Yojana,’ ‘will not only reduce the electricity bill of the poor and middle class, but also make India self-reliant in the field of energy,’ said Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his X handle.
PM has launched this initiative after returning from Ayodhya attending Ram Temple ceremony. The decision, he indicated, was inspired by the realisation that ‘all devotees of the world get energy from the light of Suryavanshi Lord Shri Ram.’
