Bengaluru: The Apollo Cancer Centre has inaugurated India’s maiden AI-Precision Oncology Centre (POC) in Bengaluru, aimed at enhancing oncology care. Leveraging artificial intelligence (AI), the centre will deliver timely and personalised results for oncologists, patients, and caregivers.
The AI-precision approach encompasses a range of services, including precise diagnosis, real-time insights, cancer risk evaluation, treatment protocols, and ongoing care. The patient-centric strategy involves identifying suitable candidates for targeted therapy and immunotherapy. Additionally, conversational AI is employed to educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment FAQs, and connections to support groups.
The centre integrates auto-alerts to facilitate new patient identification, contributing to care pathway compliance, clinical management, and patient benefit programs. This move aligns with Apollo’s commitment to advancing healthcare through technological interventions.
Notably, Apollo’s collaboration with Microsoft has previously yielded an AI-powered cardiac prognosis model tailored to South Asian data. This addresses the limitations of traditional cardiac risk models based on European or US data in predicting risks within the Indian population. In 2019, the National Clinical Coordination Committee, powered by AI, was introduced to combat cardiovascular diseases.
