Rajkot: Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently addressed the foundation stone laying ceremony of Shri Khodaldham Trust-Cancer Hospital via video message, lauding it as a significant stride in healthcare and service in Amreli.
Recognising the 14th anniversary of Shree Khodaldham Trust-Kagwad, Modi highlighted its transformative impact on education, agriculture, and health. He expressed confidence in the Cancer Hospital and Research Center in Amreli, believing it would exemplify the trust’s commitment to service across Saurashtra.
Modi also underscored the government’s initiatives in cancer treatment, citing the establishment of 30 new hospitals in the past nine years. Emphasizing early detection, he mentioned the widespread deployment of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs at the village level.
Commending Gujarat’s healthcare progress, he noted increased medical colleges and AIIMS in Rajkot, highlighting the state’s model of health sector reform.
Modi celebrated the success of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, stating it aided over 6 crore people, including cancer patients, resulting in significant cost savings. Modi announced plans to increase Jan Aushadhi Kendras and commended the government’s control over cancer medicine prices.
PM Modi also presented nine requests, including water conservation through collective efforts, promoting digital transactions by adopting a cashless economy and financial inclusion, especially in rural areas and ensuring cleanliness by maintaining hygienic surroundings.
He also encouraged supporting local and Made in India products for local businesses, artisans, and industries, contributing to economic growth and self-reliance; promoting domestic tourism and supporting local economies and cultural exchange; creating awareness about natural farming by promoting the use of organic methods and reducing reliance on chemical inputs; including Shri-Ann in dietary practices; promoting a healthy lifestyle through fitness activities, yoga, or sports; and avoiding drugs and addiction.
Modi expressed confidence in Shri Khodaldham Trust’s continued dedication and wished success to the upcoming cancer hospital, urging against foreign destination weddings with the slogan “Wed in India.”
