Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared India’s resolve to take the lead in Artificial Intelligence (AI) while speaking at Startup Mahakumbh. He talked about initiatives such as the National Quantum Mission, AI Mission, and Semiconductor Mission, stating they would unlock new paths for innovation.
India will serve as a launchpad for global AI innovations, Modi asserted, expressing confidence in India’s capabilities to drive advancements in AI technology. He discussed the importance of AI proficiency while citing his own use of AI during election campaigns to overcome language barriers. He said, “Using AI, I am communicating in Tamil, Telegu and Odiya.”
Calling attention towards India’s remarkable rise in the global startup ecosystem, Modi encouraged startups to develop new ideas and drive the growth of the ecosystem. He also promised government support to enhance funding mechanisms.
“Startups will play a significant role in India’s journey towards becoming the third largest economy,” Modi concluded.
