New Delhi: Senior IPS officer Nalin Prabhat, from the 1992 batch of the Andhra Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as the Director-General of the National Security Guard (NSG), India’s top counter-terrorism and counter-hijack force.
Prabhat is currently posted as the Additional Director-General in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Jammu and Kashmir. He will serve in this position until he retires on August 31, 2028. His appointment received approval from the Cabinet’s appointments committee via an order by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
IPS officer Sapna Tewari has been appointed the Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB). The 1992-batch officer from Odisha cadre is currently the Additional Director in the IB. She will serve for two years starting from the date she takes charge or until her retirement on April 30, 2026, according to the DoPT order.
