Shimla: The government of Himachal Pradesh has recently transferred seven Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. Chander Prakash Verma, director (land records), has been assigned as secretary to the governor. He is an IAS officer from the 2010 batch of the Himachal Pradesh cadre.
Other prominent transfers appointed by the government are:
- IAS R D Nazeem (1995 batch) was relieved of his duties as Additional Chief Secretary (forest) and Financial Commissioner (appeals) by IAS Kamlesh Kumar Pant (1993 batch).
- IAS Abhishek Jain (2002 batch) was named secretary in the Departments of Finance, Planning, Economics, and Statistics as well as Secretary in the Departments of Digital Technologies, Governance, and PWD.
- Currently serving as Secretary in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, IAS M Sudha Devi (2003 batch) has been assigned the additional responsibility of secretary (personnel).
- IAS Priyanka Basu (2008 batch) has been named as the secretary of the Departments of Labour and Employment, Printing and Stationery, Fisheries, Youth Services, and Sports.
- Rakesh Kanwar, an IAS from the 2007 batch, now has a new responsibility as Secretary (NCES).
- IAS Rajesh Sharma (2008 batch) has been assigned to the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj as a Secretary. In addition, he will continue to serve as the Lokayukta Secretary.
