New Delhi: The government has appointed Arunangshu Sarkar as the Director for new energy, petrochemicals, and corporate affairs at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). The appointment comes in light of the company’s efforts to revamp the organizational structure.
Before his promotion, Sarkar was the Group General Manager (Production) at ONGC. He has also previously held the position of General Manager (Strategy and Corporate Planning) at ONGC Vidhesh, the company’s overseas investment arm. He holds a petroleum engineering degree from the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.
The ONGC Board was reorganized two years ago to incorporate two new posts, Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs) and Director (Production). These posts, along with the other key directorial positions at ONGC in divisions such as exploration, finance, human resources, and technical and field services, report to the Managing Director.
