New Delhi: With an aim to support India’s aspirations in biomedical research and tech-enabled Research and Development, the Department of Biotechnology – Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (DBT-BIRAC), has announced a strategic partnership with Blockchain For Impact (BFI). BFI is a catalyst funder from the blockchain industry and a philanthropic organization.
Under the partnership, BFI will deliver long-term equitable medical preparedness mechanisms by utilizing the deep technology expertise of DBT-BIRAC. It will aim to bridge gaps in healthcare and provide lab-to-market support to bolster India’s R&D efforts in the field of bio-medical sciences. The collaboration will provide support to start-ups in the biomedical field and life sciences. BFI will conduct mentorship sessions and other initiatives to accelerate programs for start-ups and innovators, together with funding of SMEs for product development.
DBT-BIRAC is a not-for-profit, public-sector enterprise under the Department of Biotechnology (DBT). It plays the role of an interface agency to strengthen and empower the emerging Biotech enterprise and to boost innovation and entrepreneurship in the bio-medical field.
