Vadodara: The foundation work for eight stations in Gujarat, part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project, has been completed.
According to Pramod Sharma, Project Director of the initiative, the project is advancing under the ‘Make in India’ framework. The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) also confirmed that noise barriers are being installed along the corridor. These 2-meter-high concrete barriers, weighing around 830-840 kilograms, are intended to reduce the noise impact during operations by reflecting and distributing sound generated by the train’s wheels.
In addition to this, NHSRCL has commenced work on key infrastructure elements, including a 1.4 km bridge over the Narmada River, the longest in the Gujarat section, and a 21 km undersea tunnel. The progress reflects ongoing efforts to meet the project’s deadlines and ensure the bullet train’s operational efficiency.
With these developments, the bullet train project is moving closer to completion, marking a significant milestone in India’s transport infrastructure. The project continues to face scrutiny over environmental and financial concerns, but progress on key structural components is advancing steadily.
