New Delhi: General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Incorporated (ASI) has selected HCFL, a major telecom solutions provider, to develop and supply critical sub-systems for the US-based defense technology firm’s advanced Unmanned Aircraft Systems. According to the company’s announcement, HCFL will develop drone detection radar for the US firm, which is a crucial technology in modern drone detection systems.
HCFL’s subsidiary, Raddef, has been developing portable and deployable advanced radar and radio frequency technologies across various regions. According to the company’s Managing Director, Mahendra Nahata, the current partnership marks a milestone in HCFL’s journey as the company will now be able to contribute to defense forces through its advanced drone technologies, thereby also driving the Make in India Initiative.
Apart from telecom gears, HCFL is also engaged in research and development of a wide range of radar technologies such as ground surveillance radars, weather radars, threat emulators, LTE-based passive radars, fog and foliage penetration radars, radars for coastal surveillance, avalanche detection radars, muzzle velocity radars, and altimeters.
