Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), the state-owned telecommunications giant, has unveiled its new logo, symbolizing its renewed focus on delivering secure, affordable, and reliable connectivity across the country.
BSNL’s new logo, featuring green and white arrows encircling India, represents the company’s expansive reach and commitment to bridging the digital divide. The vibrant orange backdrop conveys warmth and inclusivity, aligning with BSNL’s mission to connect both urban and rural regions of India. The tagline, ‘Connecting Bharat’, reinforces the company’s dedication to ensuring every citizen has access to modern, reliable telecom services.
At the event, Union Minister Scindia praised BSNL’s enduring legacy, stating, “BSNL has been a flagship enterprise of the government, representing the aspirations, dreams, and expectations of every single citizen of our country. The new logo of BSNL symbolizes strength, trust, and accessibility.”
Along with the new logo, BSNL launched seven pioneering services aimed at reshaping the country’s connectivity. These services are built around three key pillars: security, affordability, and reliability.
-
Spam-Free Network: Safeguarding Digital Security
BSNL introduced an automatic spam-blocking solution that filters out phishing attempts and malicious SMS messages. This ensures a safer communication experience without the need to alert customers, further enhancing BSNL’s commitment to secure telecom services.

BSNL National Wi-Fi Roaming: Affordable Connectivity
BSNL has rolled out a seamless Wi-Fi roaming service for its Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) customers. This service allows users to access high-speed internet at BSNL hotspots nationwide without incurring additional data costs. “We are providing seamless connectivity to BSNL customers,” said a BSNL official. “Customers need to register in a separate portal, create a username and password, and use that login at any BSNL access point even on highways.”
-
BSNL IFTV: Fiber-based Intranet TV Service
BSNL has also introduced IFTV, India’s first fiber-based intranet TV service, offering over 500 live channels through its FTTH network. This service comes at no extra cost for BSNL FTTH subscribers, and the data usage for TV viewing does not consume the users’ FTTH data pack. A BSNL official elaborated, “There is no need for a DTH box, plug in the LAN cable with your smart TV to access 500+ channels and real-time streaming. The service has been piloted in two states so far—Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu—and is expected to be expanded across the nation by year-end.”
-
Any Time SIM (ATS) Kiosks: Unmatched Convenience
BSNL’s new automated SIM kiosks offer round-the-clock service, allowing customers to purchase, upgrade, port, or replace SIM cards using UPI or QR-enabled payments. The kiosks come equipped with multi-language support and real-time KYC integration, further simplifying the process.
-
Direct-to-Device (D2D) Service: Reliable Coverage in Remote Areas
BSNL’s Direct-to-Device service converges satellite and terrestrial mobile networks to provide seamless connectivity, even in remote regions and during emergencies. This service is crucial for delivering reliable communication in isolated areas. This technology can enable UPI payments in remote locations.
-
Public Protection & Disaster Relief (PPDR): Critical Communication During Emergencies
BSNL unveiled India’s first encrypted communication network for government and disaster relief agencies, aimed at ensuring secure communication during emergencies. “This is a radio solution designed for public protection during disasters or law and order situations, and we will provide this service to state governments,” said a BSNL official.

First Private 5G in Mines: Enabling Advanced Connectivity
BSNL has partnered with C-DAC to introduce 5G connectivity for mining operations, utilizing Made-in-India equipment. This high-speed, low-latency service will power AI and IoT applications in both underground and open-cast mining operations, enhancing safety analytics, fleet management, and remote control capabilities.
Union Minister Scindia highlighted the company’s continued progress in the telecom space, stating: “Since the beginning of the rollout of 4G, the subscribers of BSNL have increased from 75 lakh in March 2024 to 1.8 crore now. BSNL will establish 100,000 4G sites by mid-2025 and has plans to upgrade some of those sites to 5G. BSNL now will be always at the forefront of innovation. BSNL will no longer be a follower but a leader.”
Minister of State for Communications, Chandra S. Pemmasani, expressed confidence in BSNL’s capabilities, stating: “BSNL has stood as the nation’s backbone, providing telecom services in remote challenging terrains where others could not.” He emphasized the government’s support, noting, “BSNL has received two substantial revival packages totaling over Rs 3 lakh crore. This support has enabled us to achieve operational profitability, paving the way for sustainable growth. We are deploying a fully indigenous 4G network, followed by an ambitious 4G saturation project and BharatNET phase three.”
With its new identity and innovative services, BSNL is poised to remain a leader in India’s telecom sector, ensuring that secure, affordable, and reliable connectivity is accessible to all.
