Mumbai:Â In a move to strengthen technical education in India, the Maharashtra Govt., through its State Board of Technical Education, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT).
The main objectives of the partnership are:
- to create Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, 3D printing, and Allied Technologies for capacity building.
to build Research and Development Centres at Government Polytechnic and Government Engineering College in the state.
to provide industry-relevant technical skills to college students and make them ready for job opportunities in the field.
During the signing of the MoU, Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Railways & Information and Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that the initiative currently started in Maharashtra, will eventually be extended to other states, particularly focusing on Polytechnic institutions, ITIs, and new established universities. The move is expected to create relevant job opportunities for the youth, especially in the IT industry.
