Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation (APSDC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Infosys to provide skills pre-certification to the participants of the ongoing skill census in the state. The skill census is a first-of-its-kind initiative of the AP government to assess the skill set and competencies of 35 million people in the state’s working-age population. In addition, the activity aims to identify skill sets according to current industry requirements.

How will Infosys Contribute?
Under the partnership, Infosys will extend its support to the AP Government in recording the skill sets of the participants by leveraging generative AI and facilitating the integration of a digital learning platform in the skill census framework to bridge skill gaps. As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, Infosys will connect students to learning pathways and create a user-friendly interface to provide them with continuous learning opportunities. Additionally, the organisation will also help APSDC to improve learning technology and maintain the digital platform. The students will benefit from free learning material including online courses and workshops to enhance their skills.
The MoU was signed in the presence of the Minister for Education, Information Technology (IT) and Electronics, Nara Lokesh at Amaravati. He appreciated the efforts of Infosys for bridging the skills gap in the state saying:
“Delighted to announce that Infosys has partnered with us to provide technical support for the prestigious Skill Census program, a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country, enhancing its effectiveness. Without any financial obligations, Infosys signed an agreement today with the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) to offer a digital platform utilizing Generative AI for pre-validating candidates’ skills. I extend my gratitude to Infosys for their support, paving the way for skill development training aligned with market demand.”
