New Delhi: The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JK Cement to strengthen India’s manufacturing ecosystem, foster innovation, and empower entrepreneurs. According to DPIIT, this partnership aims to transform India into a global manufacturing hub by nurturing product startups, innovators, and entrepreneurs. The collaboration will provide startups with access to advanced infrastructure, manufacturing and research and development (R&D) facilities, mentorship opportunities, pilot projects, and university resources under JK Cement.
A Startup-Friendly Initiative
Sanjiv Singh, Joint Secretary, DPIIT, termed the MoU a startup-friendly initiative and a crucial step toward building synergies with JK Cement to create a supportive environment for startups. He emphasized that this collaboration would help budding entrepreneurs scale new heights by transforming innovative ideas into impactful solutions, ultimately positioning India as a global leader in manufacturing and innovation. Director of Startup India, Dr. Sumeet Kumar Jarangal, outlined that this initiative seeks to accelerate entrepreneurship, create viable solutions, and drive sustainable development. Over the next year, the program aims to support at least 10 startups, fostering growth and innovation within the manufacturing sector.
