Kolkata: In a minor yet significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Government of West Bengal has mandated the transfer and new postings of four Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to optimize administrative efficiency and ensure effective law and order management.
According to the official notification, IPS Amandeep has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Police (SP) of Birbhum district. Prior to this, he served as the SP of East Burdwan, where his tenure was marked by proactive policing and initiatives aimed at crime prevention.
Meanwhile, IPS Raj Narayan Mukherjee, the outgoing SP of Birbhum, has been reappointed as the SP of Traffic in the state police. In this role, he is expected to enhance traffic management and safety measures in the state.
IPS Sayak Das, who has been serving as Special Superintendent (SS) in the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID), has been promoted to the role of SP of East Burdwan. Das is recognized for his investigative expertise and his contributions to high-profile cases during his CID tenure, making him a strong candidate to handle the district’s administrative challenges.
This reshuffle reflects the state government’s intent to leverage the diverse expertise of its officers for efficient administration in the state.
