Punjab Govt Reshuffles Three IPS Officers; IPS Swapan Sharma Made CP, Ludhiana

Chandigarh:  In a minor administrative reshuffle in the state, the Government of Punjab has announced the transfers and fresh postings of three officers of the Indian Police Service (IPS), including IPS Swapan Sharma.

IPS Sharma (2009 batch), one of the transferred officers, has been appointed as the Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, in place of IPS Kuldeep Singh Chahal. He was previously serving as the DIG of the Ferozepur range, Ferozepur

The Punjab government’s order also stated that the posting order for IPS Kuldeep Singh would be issued later.

Besides Sharma, IPS Harmanbir Singh Gill (2010 batch) has been transferred from his current post as the Joint Director, MRS PPA, Phillaur, and DIG, IRB, Patiala. He has now been appointed as the DIG, Ferozepur range, Ferozepur, replacing IPS Sharma.

These transfers reflect the Punjab government’s strategic efforts to optimize law enforcement leadership in the state.
