Gujarat: Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) has expanded its renewable energy portfolio by operationalizing a 37.5 MW solar power project in Khavda, Gujarat, through its subsidiary, Adani Renewable Energy Fifty Seven Ltd.
This addition raises AGEL’s total operational renewable capacity to 13,737.8 MW.
New Solar Project in Khavda
The newly operational solar project in Khavda is part of AGEL’s broader strategy to strengthen its position in India’s renewable energy sector. The company has been steadily increasing its capacity as part of its long-term energy transition goals.
The Khavda solar park is expected to contribute to India’s clean energy targets.
400 MW Solar Power Supply Contract with UPPCL
Separately, another AGEL subsidiary, Adani Renewable Energy Holding Twelve Ltd, secured a contract from Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) to supply 400 MW of solar power for the next 25 years. The power will be sourced from a new grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Rajasthan.
The agreed tariff for the supply is Rs 2.57 per kilowatt-hour (kWh). This long-term power purchase agreement aligns with UPPCL’s efforts to increase renewable energy procurement in Uttar Pradesh.
Market Performance of Adani Green Energy
AGEL’s stock closed 1.24 per cent lower at Rs 948 per share in the previous trading session. Despite a 22.4 per cent gain in the past month, the stock has fallen by 50.16 per cent over the last six months.
As India moves towards achieving its renewable energy targets, companies like Adani Green Energy continue to play a crucial role in expanding solar power infrastructure across different states.
