New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced the government’s plan to transform the national capital into a global hub for health tourism.
Speaking at the 70th Foundation Day of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, CM Gupta said, “We aim to make Delhi a global destination for medical treatment.”
CM Gupta outlined several initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare infrastructure and services in the city. These include the construction of 24 new hospitals and the addition of over 16,000 hospital beds. Furthermore, 400 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs—health and wellness centres—will be set up across Delhi to ensure accessible primary healthcare.

She reiterated the government’s commitment to providing timely, accessible, and quality healthcare services to all residents, stating, “A healthy Delhi is the foundation of a self-reliant India.”
The Delhi government has allocated Rs 12,893 crore to the healthcare sector for the current fiscal year, with Rs 2,144 crore specifically dedicated to the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
