Thiruvananthapuram: The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has promoted two distinguished officers from the Kerala State Civil Service to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Kerala cadre.
Arun J O and Hima K, both state service officers, have been inducted into the IAS under the promotion quota, recognizing their exceptional contributions to the state administration. Their elevation follows the established system of inducting meritorious state service officers into the prestigious All India Service.
Both officers bring extensive administrative experience to their new roles. Their induction into the IAS is expected to enhance governance in Kerala, leveraging their expertise in public service and state administration.
The appointments were approved after due process, as part of the central government’s routine induction of state service officers into the IAS. Both officers will assume their new responsibilities once the necessary formalities are completed.
This move strengthens Kerala’s administrative framework while ensuring that experienced officers continue to contribute effectively to governance. It also highlights the government’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding excellence in state bureaucracy while maintaining cadre strength in the IAS.
