New Delhi: The central government has appointed IAS Chandni Singh as private secretary to Annpurna Devi, Union Minister for Women & Child Development.
IAS Chandni Singh, a 2013-batch Uttar Pradesh cadre officer, is currently awaiting posting in her parent cadre. She will assume the role at the Deputy Secretary level on central deputation for a tenure of five years.
Her appointment, cleared by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), is part of the government’s initiative to place experienced officers in key ministerial roles.
In this capacity, she will support the minister in policy implementation and administrative matters related to women and child welfare schemes.
The five-year deputation underscores the government’s focus on ensuring continuity in crucial social sector ministries. Singh is expected to take charge soon, contributing to the effective execution of policies aimed at women’s empowerment and child development.
