Thiruvanathapuram: In a significant reshuffle within the Kerala police force, IPS H Venkatesh (1998 batch) has been appointed as the Additional Director General of Police (Law & Order).
IPS H Venkatesh, who previously held the position of ADGP (Crimes), assumes his new role effective on 1 May.
This move comes in the wake of the promotion of IPS Manoj Abraham (1994 batch), who served as ADGP (Law & Order), to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP). Abraham has been appointed as the Director General of Fire and Rescue Services, a newly created ex-cadre post.
The changes follow the retirement of IPS K Padmakumar (1989 batch), who held the DGP position until 30 April. To facilitate Abraham’s elevation, the state government introduced the new DGP-level post, signalling a strategic restructuring in the state’s senior police leadership.
