Patna: The Bihar government has issued a major reshuffle of the state police force, transferring seven Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, including IPS Jitendra Rana and assigning them new responsibilities across the state.
According to the government notification, IPS Jitendra Rana (2005 batch) has been appointed Inspector General of Police (IG) for the Central Region.Â
In this role, Rana will oversee law enforcement activities in the central zones of Bihar, including Patna.Â
The list of other transfers includes
- IPS Rakesh Rathi (2002 batch) has been appointed IG of the Special Branch. In this role, he will be responsible for overseeing security and surveillance operations within the state.
- IPS Garima Malik (2006 batch), previously the IG of the Central Region, has been posted as IG of Vigilance, tasked with anti-corruption and oversight responsibilities.Â
- IPS S. Premalatha, previously the IG of Vigilance, has been transferred and appointed as IG of Technical Services, managing police technology and infrastructure.
- IPS Manoj Kumar Tiwari (2012 batch), formerly the Superintendent of Police (SP) of the Crime Investigation Department (CID), has been posted as SP of Siwan. His predecessor, IPS Amitesh Kumar, has moved to head the Special Branch as Superintendent of Police.
- IPS K. Ramdas (2019 batch), currently Assistant Director at Bihar Police Academy, has been made SP of the Crime Investigation Department.
These transfers aim to strengthen policing efficiency and streamline administrative functions across the state.
