Wardha: Juniper Green Energy has commissioned an additional 43 MWp of solar power at its hybrid project site in Wardha, Maharashtra, bringing the total commissioned solar capacity at the site to 103 MWp.
The company is supplying electricity to the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) through its subsidiary, Juniper Green Power Five Pvt Ltd. This marks the completion of the solar portion of its 129 MWp hybrid power project, which combines solar and wind power generation.
The solar project was executed in two phases. The first 59.55 MWp was commissioned on June 6, 2025, and the remaining 43 MWp was added on July 14, 2025. The company completed the solar component just eight months after signing the power purchase agreement (PPA), and 16 months before the scheduled commissioning deadline of November 17, 2026.
The Wardha hybrid project is part of Juniper Green Energy’s broader efforts to scale renewable capacity in India, especially in states like Maharashtra where the energy demand is high. Hybrid power projects are increasingly becoming a preferred model to ensure grid stability and optimize land use, especially for utilities like MSEDCL that are under pressure to meet renewable purchase obligations (RPOs).
By completing the solar component well before the deadline, Juniper Green Energy has contributed to the state’s clean energy supply while also indicating the potential of faster execution timelines in utility-scale renewable projects.
