Bengaluru: In a key bureaucratic development, IAS Sindhu B Rupesh of the 2011 batch (Karnataka cadre) has been appointed as Director in the Department of Space (DoS), Bengaluru, under the Central Staffing Scheme.
The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) issued an official order that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved her central deputation for a period of five years from the date she assumes charge or until further orders.
Sindhu B Rupesh brings strong administrative experience, having served in various key roles within the Karnataka state government. Her shift to the Department of Space is in line with the Centre’s aim to bring experienced officers into critical strategic sectors to improve governance and inter-departmental coordination.
Her appointment comes at an important time for the DoS, which oversees India’s space program through ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation). With the country ramping up its space exploration efforts, including global collaborations and advancements in satellite and commercial space technologies, her expertise is expected to add value to the department’s expanding responsibilities.
