Kolkata: The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) is launching a new app designed to simplify parking and manage parking locations in Kolkata.
The app will allow users to pay for parking online, reducing the need for manual collection of parking payments.
The app is also integrated with the West Bengal Transport Department and Kolkata Police. All successful transactions are pushed to the cloud for reconciliation and reporting purposes.
As per Mayor Firhad Hakim, there will be boards with designated parking fees put up at various parking locations. Consumers can also lodge complaints about parking fee irregularities through the app.
Though the parking app was introduced earlier, it was not functioning properly in some parts of the city. These anomalies will be rectified when the app is reintroduced.
