Bhopal: In a key bureaucratic development, IAS Sufiyah Faruqui Wali of the 2009 batch, belonging to the Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as General Manager (Region) of the Food Corporation of India (FCI), Bhopal, under the Department of Food and Public Distribution.Â
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the appointment, made under the Central Staffing Scheme, will be on a deputation basis for three years, effective from the date she assumes charge.
Wali is an alumna of Barkatulla University, Bhopal, where she earned both B.A. and M.A. degrees. Over the years, she has served in several significant capacities in Madhya Pradesh. Her key roles include Commissioner of Women and Child Development; Mission Director of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bal Arogya Evam Poshan Mission; Collector of Raisen and Mandla districts; CEO of the Employment Guarantee Council; Managing Director of the Handicrafts and Handloom Development Corporation and MP Khadi Board; and Director of the Professional Examination Board.
Known for her pro-people approach, focus on grassroots implementation, and strong record of integrity, Wali’s new assignment at the FCI marks another important chapter in her administrative career.
