Kanpur: C3iHub, the Cybersecurity Technology Innovation Hub at IIT Kanpur, recently upgraded to a Technology Translation Research Park (TTRP) by the Department of Science and Technology, has entered into a strategic partnership with the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) to strengthen research and innovation in automotive security.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Dr. Reji Mathai, Director, ARAI; Prof. Tarun Gupta, Dean of R&D, IIT Kanpur; and Dr. Tanima Hajra, CEO, C3iHub, in the presence of Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur.
Senior officials, including Ujjwala Karle, Sr. Deputy Director, ARAI; Ravindra G Shah, Deputy General Manager, ARAI; Prof. Somitra Sanadhya, Project Director, C3iHub; and Vibhu Vaibhav Awasthi, Deputy Manager, ARAI, also attended the ceremony.
The collaboration aims to address the growing challenges in automotive cybersecurity, an area gaining global attention with the increasing adoption of connected and autonomous vehicles.
Both institutions plan to jointly develop advanced solutions, promote research and enhance resilience in mobility systems to ensure safe and secure transportation.
Highlighting the significance of the partnership, Prof. Agrawal noted that automobiles are becoming increasingly software-driven, making cybersecurity a critical pillar of safety and reliability.
Dr. Mathai emphasised that ARAI’s longstanding expertise in mobility and safety, combined with IIT Kanpur and C3iHub’s research capabilities, would pave the way for secure, sustainable and future-ready automotive solutions.
