Mumbai: SBI Life Insurance has announced the appointment of Vishal Bhatia as its new Chief Information Technology & Digital Officer (CIDO).
The move underlines the company’s commitment to accelerate digital transformation and strengthen technology-driven services.
Bhatia brings over 24 years of experience in banking and financial services, with expertise spanning cloud platforms, AI innovation, fintech partnerships, and customer-focused product development. At SBI Life, he will drive next-generation technology adoption, enhancing digital distribution, customer servicing, and claims management for over 10 crore customers.
Prior to this role, Bhatia served as Chief Digital Officer at Canara Bank, where he led large-scale digital programs that secured the bank’s top rankings from the Ministry of Electronics and IT for three consecutive years. Earlier, he was Chief Technology Officer at Kotak Cherry, spearheading digital product strategies, and IT Senior Director at IDFC FIRST Bank, where he built critical banking infrastructure. He also held leadership positions at Société Générale and Infosys, managing global banking operations and delivering technology solutions across India, Europe, and Turkey.
Bhatia’s experience in API integration, AI-powered analytics, and cloud strategy is expected to play a key role in strengthening SBI Life’s digital ecosystem and driving customer-centric innovations.
