Dispur: As part of a recent administrative reshuffle in the state, the Assam government has transferred four Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. As per the official notification, IAS Dr. John Berchmans has been appointed Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) for the Industries, Commerce, and Public Enterprises and Tea Tribe Welfare Departments.
He previously served as ACS, Labour Welfare Department.
Other transfers include
- IAS Mukesh Chandra Sahu, currently ACS, Women and Child Development and Bodoland Welfare Departments, has been given additional charge as ACS, Transport Department, Government of Assam.
- IAS Konwar Narayan Kumar, presently the Secretary of the Higher Education and School Education Departments, has been given additional charge as Registrar, Cooperative Societies; Managing Director, RUSA; Director, Official Language Welfare; and MD, Samagra Shiksha Mission.
- IAS Gyanendra Dev Tripathi has been relieved from his post as Principal Secretary, Transport Department. He has now been appointed as Principal Secretary of the Border Security and Development, Implementation of the Assam Accord, and Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship Departments. Additionally, he will hold the charge of Principal Secretary, Labour Welfare Department.
